Guardians are the ones who stay. Not at a distance, not watching from somewhere above—but present. Assigned, positioned, and kept where they’re needed most.
They’re not defined by large-scale war or command. Their purpose is specific. Focused. A person. A mission. Something that cannot be allowed to fail.
From what I’ve seen, they don’t leave that responsibility once it’s given. They hold it—through pressure, through threat, through whatever comes for it—and they don’t step away unless they’re forced to.
