RECORD SUMMARY
Leah — Aleahial, if you go by the old Choir records — is one of those people who manages to feel both completely relaxed and slightly dangerous at the same time. She carries herself like someone who knows exactly what she’s capable of and doesn’t feel the need to prove it. I’ve watched enough warriors to recognize the difference. Leah is beautiful, fast, precise, and far more observant than most people realize when they first meet her.
Physically she’s easy to recognize once you know what you’re looking for. Tall, lean, dark hair usually tucked behind one ear, and a small beauty mark beneath her left eye. The piercings probably throw people off the most. You don’t expect someone who looks like she walked out of a concert crowd to move the way she does in a fight.
I’ve seen Leah fight, so I know exactly how fast she moves — which is probably why the story about Liv accidentally hitting her with a dagger during a fight with a Shadow still circulates.
Outside of combat, Leah is responsible for something far more dangerous — romance novels. She’s the reason half the women around here are now addicted to a particular series she keeps passing around. She calls it “required reading.” I tried to resist for a while. I lasted about three chapters before she caught me finishing the first book at two in the morning. She was very pleased with herself.
What surprises people most is how many connections Leah has. She seems to know someone everywhere — angels, humans, creatures most people never even hear about. One of her closest friends is Kennedy, a who shows up often enough that I stopped asking how they originally met. At this point I’ve learned that if Leah says someone is worth trusting, there’s usually a reason.
She’s also been quietly helping . Leah has a way of stepping in without making it feel like help, which is probably why he actually listens to her. As — even if I suspect she finds the whole thing a little amusing.
If you spend enough time around her, you start to understand something else too. Leah notices things. People. Shifts in mood. Trouble before it fully arrives. She doesn’t always say what she’s thinking, but when she does, it’s usually worth listening.
Also, if she offers you a book, take the warning seriously. You probably won’t be getting much sleep for a few nights.
