Velyth are Dimmed beings of Loka formed through misalignment with the realm’s natural flow, when a demon loses the ability to remain rooted in harmony with the world around them. In a realm defined by connection, sensory balance, and instinctive belonging, this form of Dimming manifests not through rot or visible corruption, but through quiet dislocation.
They retain a fully human, wholly tangible form and at first glance appear no different from other Lokanians. Warm skin, braided hair, layered jewelry, and soft draped clothing allow them to remain visually embedded within the life of the realm. Only subtle signs mark them apart: a faint green undertone beneath the skin in certain light, and a gaze that lingers with too much focus for too long.
Velyth do not hunt with force or open aggression. They remain concealed within canopy paths and quiet jungle routes, watching those whose Essences have already begun to weaken. Believing themselves to be guides, they draw near through calm attention and sustained presence, but what they offer is not restoration. Their influence thins a being’s connection to Loka until instinct, grounding, and alignment begin to fail.
If left in place, Velyth increase the likelihood of further Dimming across a region. For this reason, they are treated as ecosystem-level threats within Loka and are actively hunted by the Airae before their influence can spread.

Velyth function as propagation catalysts within Loka. Through sustained attention and proximity, they weaken an individual’s connection to the realm, increasing instability in already vulnerable Essences.
Their influence is cumulative rather than immediate. Prolonged exposure, especially through continued attention or direct engagement, accelerates progression toward Dimming. Once a Velyth speaks directly to an individual, recovery is no longer possible and collapse becomes inevitable.
If left unchecked, Velyth presence leads to increased Dimmed emergence within a region. For this reason, they are actively hunted and eliminated by the Airae to preserve balance within Loka.
Velyth remain partially concealed within dense foliage, jungle pathways, and quiet travel routes, observing before revealing themselves. They are drawn to tired, unstable, or weakened Essences and approach with calm, deliberate attention, believing they are offering guidance back toward alignment.
