ASHLEAF SHRUB
Ashleaf Shrub forms dense, waist-high growth along the roads, field margins, and outer boundaries of Tehom’s working land. Its leaves carry a muted green-grey tone, softened further by a matte, ash-like finish that reflects the volcanic soil it grows from.
It does not present as cultivated or ornamental growth, but as a natural structuring element of the land. Ashleaf lines pathways and field edges in quiet continuity, marking the transition between maintained ground and the broader, harsher terrain beyond without the need for constructed barriers.
FIELD RECORD
Realm-native boundary shrub adapted to Tehom’s volcanic soil and exposed field edges.
Tehom
Flora
- Dense waist-high shrub with soft but structured growth
- Muted green-grey leaves with a matte, ash-toned surface
- Subtle burgandy undertones visible in deeper leaf clusters
- Even spread forming natural lines along paths and fields
- Resilient presence across dry and exposed ground
Ashleaf Shrub grows in continuous clustered bands rather than isolated plants, favoring roadside ground, field margins, and transitional zones where soil remains workable but less cultivated.
Primarily serves as natural boundary growth. In some regions it is trimmed to maintain clear pathways or gathered in small amounts for brush bundles and ground cover reinforcement.
Present across most of the yearly cycle due to its hardy nature, with fuller density appearing during warmer growing periods.
Most commonly found along dirt roads, field borders, and settlement outskirts throughout Ebonvale and Tehom’s broader lowland regions.
ARCHIVAL NOTE
Ashleaf Shrub is not among the most noticed flora of Tehom, but it is among the most constant. It defines edges without drawing attention, softens boundaries without replacing them, and persists where more delicate growth would fail. Its strength lies in its quiet reliability.
In many ways, it reflects the working character of the realm itself. Tehom is not shaped only by what is cultivated, but by what endures alongside it. Ashleaf belongs to those spaces where land is used, weathered, and left to remain functional without refinement.
