AURETHIN REED
Aurethin Reed lines the canals and controlled water corridors of Naraka, where its upright clusters reinforce the city’s structured rhythm through repeated vertical form. Though similar in function to reed and bamboo systems, Aurethin is distinctly cultivated, shaped to match the precision of the environment it supports.
It serves as both a living architectural element and a primary material source. Its presence stabilizes canal edges while supplying fibers and structural material used throughout Naraka’s crafted systems.

Naraka
Flora
- Tall, smooth stalks with clean segmented joints
- Leaves are elongated diamond-shaped rather than thin blades
- Leaves spaced evenly and angled outward in controlled patterns
- Color tones of pale jade, muted gold-green, and rare ivory
- Grows in contained clusters along canal edges and water terraces
Aurethin Reed grows in structured beds along calm water channels, with spacing, height, and density maintained through controlled cultivation and rotational cutting.
Used for scroll material, lightweight structural elements, fine binding fibers, and stabilization of canal-edge systems.
Harvested in measured cycles to preserve root stability, maintain water flow, and ensure consistent stalk quality across cultivation beds.
Most often found along Akerin canal systems, Mirazel water terraces, and other controlled water corridors throughout Naraka.
ARCHIVAL NOTE
Aurethin Reed is one of the clearest reflections of Naraka’s preference for order. Even in growth, it follows a pattern that mirrors the city itself—measured, repeated, and deliberate.
Along the canals, its reflection doubles its presence, creating the impression that structure exists both above and below the surface, as though the system extends beyond what is immediately seen.
