CUISHKA
Cuishka are small burrowing mammals native to Tehom, commonly found beneath Embergrass fields, near Thornbrush boundaries, and along low agricultural terrain where the soil remains warm and workable. They are a quiet but constant part of Tehom’s field systems, moving through shallow tunnels beneath cultivated land.
Their bodies are compact and round, built for low movement, soil displacement, and life close to the ground. Cuishka help maintain the health of Tehom’s agricultural regions by loosening soil, supporting root systems, and aerating the earth beneath active growth. Though gentle and unobtrusive, they form an important part of the realm’s lower ecosystem and are one of the primary prey species regulated by Velri.
FIELD RECORD
Small burrowing mammal native to Tehom.
Tehom
Ground-dwelling field fauna that supports soil health and agricultural stability through shallow burrowing and earth aeration.
- Round-bodied, low-set build
- Soft dense fur in warm earth-toned coloration
- Large, expressive ears with light-catching translucence
- Dark, reflective eyes
- Shallow burrow systems with disturbed loose soil
Most commonly found beneath Embergrass fields, near Thornbrush borders, along low agricultural terrain, and close to warm soil zones where root systems are dense and active.
Cuishka live in small burrow systems beneath cultivated land, emerging cautiously at quieter hours to feed or shift between openings. They are alert, gentle, and highly responsive to ground vibration and nearby movement.
- Shallow burrowing through warm field soil
- Natural soil aeration beneath root systems
- Sensitive hearing and vibration awareness
- Fast retreat into low tunnel networks
Most active during cooler morning and evening hours, when surface temperatures are lower and movement above ground is safer.
Cuishka are considered beneficial to Tehom’s working fields because their tunneling helps prevent soil compaction. They also form part of the lower prey cycle and are an important species within the realm’s broader ecological balance.
