RECORD SUMMARY

If you’ve never met Sage, the first thing you’ll probably notice is that he looks like the kind of guy people cross the street to avoid.

Huge shoulders. Tattoos everywhere. Neck included. The whole “I could break a door in half without trying” kind of build.

And honestly… you wouldn’t be completely wrong to be cautious.

Sage was raised to be a warrior. Not trained later. Raised that way. Throne doctrine, combat discipline, the whole Heaven-made-weapon package from the beginning. When he walks into a room, you can feel it. The control. The awareness. The quiet way he watches everything with those strange indigo-colored eyes before deciding whether something is actually worth his attention.

But the funny thing about Sage is that the intimidating part isn’t actually the whole story.

Because the second he smiles, the whole effect kind of… collapses.

He’s got these ridiculous dimples that show up when he laughs, and suddenly the giant tattooed Throne looks less like a walking threat and more like someone’s dangerously charming older brother.

Which, inconveniently for Cassielle, is basically the role he decided to adopt.

Cass never asked for a brother, but Sage seems to think that part is optional. The two of them argue like siblings half the time, and he annoys her with the same enthusiasm Connor uses with me. But if anything ever actually threatened her, Sage would probably level the building before anyone finished explaining the situation.

That kind of loyalty is pretty consistent with him.

Underneath all the muscle and ink and battlefield training is someone who feels things a lot more deeply than he lets most people see. If Sage decides someone is his person, that’s it. You’re under his protection whether you asked for it or not.

Theo says Sage fights like a freight train. No hesitation. No wasted movement. Just straight through whatever is in front of him until the threat stops existing.

Personally, I think the scariest thing about him is how calm he stays while doing it.

But when he isn’t fighting, Sage is… weirdly normal. Or at least his version of normal.

He’s a karaoke addict. Not joking. The man could probably flip a car if he needed to and somehow also knows the lyrics to half the romantic comedies ever made. Which is why he and Liv get along so well. Once, I watched him argue with Theo about which version of Pride and Prejudice was better and I’m still not entirely sure how that happened.

He teases people constantly and gives them nicknames as a sign of affection — or at least that’s how you know he likes you. I'm "Clo-bow".

Theo—who Sage calls “Big Sexy,” which I wish I could un-hear—is probably the only person who’s been around him long enough to keep up with the sarcasm. pretends to hate it, but honestly he gives it back just as much.

The truth is Sage acts like someone who doesn’t expect to keep anything he cares about for very long.

Recently he picked up another nickname. Apparently the , decided his tattoos deserved their own title and started calling him Barva-Uno — for “Painted One.” Sage pretends he doesn’t care about things like that, but considering he hasn’t corrected anyone who’s used it since, I’m guessing he secretly likes it.

He protects people like that’s the only part of the job that matters. Like losing them later is just… part of the deal.

Which is probably why scares him more than any battlefield ever could.

Because she’s the one person in the world who might actually survive standing beside him.

And if that happens, Sage might finally have to figure out what it means to want something he isn’t supposed to lose.

For the record, I’m rooting for them.

Even if I’ll never admit that out loud where he can hear it.
