LOKA
Loka is a tightly bound archipelago of jungle-covered isles, where land and water exist in constant proximity. Narrow channels weave between dense canopy, and movement through the realm happens along quiet waterways, shaded paths, and low bridges that follow the natural shape of the land.
The realm is warm, humid, and alive with subtle sensation. Sulorin vines drape from the canopy above, Lumora spreads across the forest floor, and Kazhran blooms gather in still waters along the edges of the channels. Pohara Aum rise through the layered canopy, shaping the isles with rooted height, shade, and living structure.
Settlements rise organically from the land, most notably on Amara, the Isle of the Queen, where open-air structures, terraces, and walkways are woven into the jungle itself. There are no hard edges in Loka—only gradual transitions between water, growth, and dwelling.
Beneath its calm surface, Loka is a realm shaped by desire—not through excess, but through presence. It invites stillness, indulgence, and release, offering a quiet pull that is easy to follow and difficult to resist.

The Realm of Desire
Queen Regent Mara of Loka
Xhal
Loka is a conscious isle realm shaped by ease, sensation, and release. Its atmosphere encourages calm, pleasure, and lingering presence, but the realm itself remains stable and intentional. Desire in Loka is not chaos. It is a quiet pull built into the rhythm of the land, water, and air.
A tightly bound tropical archipelago of jungle-covered isles, narrow waterways, hanging canopy, and warm stone settlements built into the land. The isles sit in close proximity, linked by channels, bridges, and boat travel, with dense Pohara Aum growth softening the edges between water, growth, and dwelling.
Loka’s waterways move between the isles in narrow, winding channels rather than broad open stretches. Shallow passages, still coves, and canal-like inlets shape daily life across the realm, carrying small boats between settlements and gathering places while feeding the humid ecosystem that defines the realm.

Loka contains two ancient Portal Gates linked to the inter-realm network. Solara Gate serves as the primary gateway of the realm and stands freestanding in the shallow water between Amara and Soreli, accessible by boat and nearby bridges. Elun Gate lies hidden within the dense canopy of Selune, overgrown and easily missed unless deliberately sought.
Loka’s flora is shaped by humidity, layered canopy, and waterbound growth. Pohara Aum form the towering canopy structure of the isles, Sulorin vines drape from both growth and built environments, Lumora spreads as a cool moss-mint ground layer across shaded soil and stone, and Kazhran blooms gather in calm water pockets and channels, their resin prized in Lokanian craft and drink culture.
Loka’s known fauna include Enali, Kepit, Airae, Renk, Oriven, and other life tied to canopy, channel, and shore. These creatures move naturally through the realm—beneath boats, along shallow water edges, through hanging growth, and across the layered jungle interior.
The Dimmed of Loka are the Velyth, known as the Unrooted of Loka—imbalanced beings who appear fully Lokanian but weaken the Essence of those they focus on, increasing the risk of Dimming through prolonged exposure.
Loka is associated with rest, beauty, indulgence, and emotional ease. Travel between isles is frequent and unhurried, often by Juke through the waterways. Distillation, gathering, ornament, and atmosphere all hold cultural weight here, but nothing in the realm feels loud or excessive. Loka’s power lies in immersion, softness, and quiet invitation.

MARA
Mara rules Loka with a presence that feels warm until it doesn’t. The realm is beautiful, indulgent, and deeply felt, but nothing in it is careless. Beneath her rule, desire is not treated as weakness. It is understood, shaped, and, when necessary, used with precision.

VELYTH
Velyth are Dimmed of Loka who have lost their connection to the realm’s living balance. They appear fully Lokanian—but something within them no longer aligns.
They observe rather than hunt. Through sustained attention, they weaken the Essence of others, believing themselves to be guiding even as they lead others toward imbalance.
